Gym & Fitness

Gym and Fitness are taught on alternating weeks and are offered to children k-6.

Gym classes are structured to keep kids moving in activities that keep their heart rates elevated, their bodies active, and their minds engaged.  They will learn things like how to warm up and cool down and the proper form for calisthenics.  It also allows for a wide variety of age appropriate games and recreation that build confidence, skill, and teamwork.

Fitness classes educate our children with the knowledge of how to take charge of their own health and fitness for the rest of their lives.

Music & Arts

Each Spring the students of Cornerstone Homeschoolers put on a show for parents, friends and guests!  After a year full of hard work, the ensemble choirs of the K-1st, 2nd-3rd and 4th-6th grades take to the stage for an hour of music.  Led by parent-teachers, these talented young people sing in choir, small groups and solo.  In addition, support musicians assist the students in performing pieces for the audience.  Afterward, everyone enjoys some refreshments and fellowship.

The children work diligently all year, not only working on their repertoire but also learning and exploring many musical themes.

The Arts is taught in a variety of ways through many different classes.  Preschool, Kindergarten and 1st grade often incorporate a lot of art as a means of learning.
